MATCH PREVIEW

The last time I was at Molineux I witnessed Wolves capitulate against arch rivals West Brom in the Black Country derby and felt the understandable mood of dejection afterwards. That of course proved to be Mick McCarthy's last game in charge as the club made a change to turn their fortunes around.
One point from 15 under Terry Connor since has hardly achieved that target and they are going to require a run of results not yet seen this season to beat the drop.

If ever there was a must win game for Wolves, this is it

They have the worst defence in the division, haven't kept a clean sheet in 27 top-flight matches and far too often over the campaign have given themselves a mountain to climb.
I saw the one point they have secured under Connor, in his first game in charge at Newcastle when they came from 2-0 down to get a draw. They are going to need that kind of spirit and effort in each of the eight games left to give themselves any chance of survival. If ever there was a must-win game for Wolves, this is it - against one of their relegation rivals, given that their three remaining matches at Molineux are against Arsenal, Manchester City and Everton.
Wolves are where Bolton were at the beginning of the year, rock bottom of the table. With everything that Wanderers have had to contend with in recent weeks it's testament to all at the club that they are looking for a third consecutive Premier League victory, something they haven't achieved since December 2006.
It was fantastic to hear that Fabrice Muamba was able to see their win against Blackburn last weekend and they will be hoping he can tune into Match of the Day again this weekend to watch his team-mates get another three points.
If they do, it would take them seven points clear of Wolves, a huge margin at this stage of the season. If the unity the squad has shown both on and off the pitch continues, they can feel positive about starting a 12th successive Premier League season in August.
