A 1-0 defeat by Chelsea on Wednesday night wasn’t reflective of a solid performance from Barcelona at Stamford Bridge. It is unlikely to be the same story on Saturday night as Guardiola’s men rarely fail to net – two consecutive blanks is surely out of the question, especially with Lionel Messi vying for a European goal scoring record. The Argentine striker is on 65 goals for the season and with the added incentive of beating Cristiano Ronaldo to the Pichichi, he’s certain to play a key part in the game. One of his strike partners, Alexis Sánchez, may miss out due to a thigh problem which could mean Pedro Rodríguez is given a rare start. Other than that, a full strength Barcelona side will be keen to overturn the four-point deficit.
